Hey everyone, Ryan here at Etrailer, today on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Hopkins custom fit vehicle wiring kit for towed vehicles. Before we jump right in, I figured it'd be useful just to address one of the main questions a lot of people wonder when it comes to setting up a flat tow. And that's, what parts am I gonna need There's gonna be a total of five main components, and usually we like to be hooked up to the motor home and really give you a good visual of what's going on. We got some really bad weather today, so, kinda stuck inside, but, that in mind, you're gonna have your base plate. And that's going to give us an attachment point, that way we can hook our tow bar up to it. So a tow bar, connect the front of your Jeep to the back of your motor home. more

Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2022 Jeep Gladiator and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Blue Ox Diode Wiring Kit for flat towing. Before we get into it, we're gonna talk about the five main components that are involved in a flat tow in order to safely do it behind your motor home. The first is gonna be your base plate which is going to mount on your vehicle. The second will be your tow bar, which connects the RV to the vehicle and you'll have your braking system, your supplemental braking system, which helps the vehicle stop behind the motor home so that the motor home doesn't have to do all the braking. You'll have your diode wiring which transfers the lighting signals from your motor home to the back of your vehicle. more

A diode wiring kit is going to take all the lighting signals from your motor home and transfer them to the lights at the back of your vehicle. This way, when you're flat towing, people behind you will know your intentions when going down the road. This includes your left turn signal, right turn signal, tail lamps, and brake lamps, keeping you DOT compliant in all states as well. Hey everyone, Connor here today at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to be going over and showing you how to install the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 4-Wire diode kit here on our 2021 Jeep Gladiator. So this is what our diode wiring kit is going to look like installed. As you can see here, we're actually using the factory taillights and taillight bulbs. Therefore, we're not going to have to worry about any separate lights, such as the magnetic lights. You have the wires draping over the vehicle. more

Therefore, we're not going to have to worry about any extra lights, such as the magnetic lights, which attach to a magnetic roof. Then we have to drape some wires down the hood of the vehicle. more

This kit's available in six different options. You can purchase it with just the diodes and the wiring and you need to get it installed, and the remaining five options will come with a connector at the front, as well as the appropriate cable to plug into that connector. There are two options for the 4-pole. You can get a 4-flat or you can get 4-round. more

Connor: Hey guys, Connor here at etrailer.com. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Roadmaster diode wiring kit for our 2020 Jeep Gladiator. Our diode wiring kit is going to be one of the many components we need to complete our flat tow setup. Some of the other components are going to include obviously our tow bar here, which is going to be the connection point between the towed vehicle and the tow vehicle, as well as our safety cables here, which are required by law, as well as our braking system and our base plates. Our Roadmaster diode wiring kit has this nice little bungee umbilical cord here. It's actually called coiled, and this is going to prevent it from dragging on the ground. more
